We offer a full range of Family Legal Services. Whether you are embarking upon living together or whether your marriage has broken down and you require advice we can help and in most cases can offer a fixed fee.
Our team of experienced and highly qualified solicitors provide a variety of legal services for individuals, families and businesses. We serve clients in Maidstone and the surrounding areas. Whether you need guidance with family law, property matters, or business legal support, our team is ready to assist, offering expert advice, clear explanations, and practical solutions to help you achieve the best outcome.
We know choosing the right solicitor can feel daunting. Our client-focused approach means you’ll always receive straightforward, jargon-free advice from friendly, experienced professionals who put your needs first.
How we work.
Our solicitors and support staff are based at our Lancaster head office, working there and remotely. We also hold consulting rooms in Maidstone for booked appointments.
Our conveyancing service is fully remote. We act for clients across England and Wales by telephone, email and secure video, so you won’t need to visit us at any stage. All our other services, including family law, Wills and probate, can be handled remotely too. Where a face-to-face meeting is necessary, we’ll arrange one — at our Maidstone consulting rooms, at your home, or by video.

Family law matters can often feel overwhelming and emotionally challenging. At Laker Legal Solicitors, we take the time to understand your individual circumstances and provide clear, compassionate guidance to help ease the process and minimise stress.
Many people are unsure of their legal rights or what steps to take. That’s why we offer a comprehensive range of family law services, tailored to your needs. Our services include:
Our family law solicitors have extensive experience representing clients in the Family and County Courts across Medway, Maidstone, and Canterbury.
We offer a free initial telephone appointment, arranged in advance at a time convenient to you — an opportunity to discuss your circumstances in confidence and understand the options available to you before you instruct us.
Please note that we do not offer legal aid.
Our conveyancing service is fully remote, and that is a deliberate choice. Documents are exchanged securely by email, telephone and video call, and we use electronic ID verification to complete regulatory checks quickly and securely. There is no time off work and no travelling to an office to sign something you could sign at your kitchen table, which means we can progress matters quickly and smoothly.
Our residential conveyancing team help with legal matters for different types of properties, including leasehold, freehold, new builds, and registered or unregistered land. Our clients can be confident in our abilities as we have been accredited by the Conveyancing Quality Scheme, demonstrating our experience and expertise when handling residential conveyancing cases.
At Laker Legal, we offer affordable fixed fees for buying or selling homes, determined by the property’s value. For an instant estimate, try our conveyancing calculator today. Conveyancing matters begin with a written quote rather than an initial appointment, though our team will be glad to answer any questions before you instruct us.
Enlisting a specialist is essential if you want to protect your business, limit the amount of time wasted, and minimise costly mistakes. Led by the highly experienced Stephen Ogden, our dedicated Commercial Property team advises on all aspects of commercial leases and property matters. We provide clear, practical guidance to support your business at every stage.
We can assist you with matters including:
Writing a Will can feel challenging, but taking this step ensures you carry out your wishes and protect your loved ones. By preparing your Will correctly, you can control exactly how your money, property, and possessions are distributed, giving yourself peace of mind.
At Laker Legal our friendly and experienced solicitors can guide you through every aspect of writing or updating your Will. We offer clear, straightforward advice.
We provide a full Will writing service with fixed fees, whether you require a single Will or a mirror Will for you and your partner or spouse. We also offer fixed-fee Lasting Power of Attorney services, making it easier to plan ahead with confidence.
Your Will or LPA is prepared by telephone, email and video, which is what most clients prefer, with secure processes in place for exchanging documents and completing ID checks. A Will must be signed in the presence of two witnesses, and an LPA has its own signature requirements — we will explain exactly what is needed and guide you through it step by step. Where a face-to-face meeting is necessary, we will arrange one at our Maidstone consulting rooms or, depending on your circumstances, at your home.
Losing a loved one is never easy, and dealing with the estate they leave behind can feel overwhelming, especially if no Will is in place.
At Laker Legal, we provide expert guidance to help you manage your loved one’s estate with care and efficiency, ensuring their wishes are respected.
Our experienced solicitors are sensitive to the emotional challenges you may be facing and will support you every step of the way. We regularly assist clients with:
We can manage the entire probate process remotely by telephone, video call or email, and all ID and compliance checks are carried out securely through our electronic system. Original documents should be posted to our Lancaster head office or handed over at a booked appointment, so that nothing of importance is left unattended.
By entrusting us with the legal process, you can ease the burden at a difficult time, confident that everything is being handled properly and professionally.
Our solicitors can provide expert legal support to clients facing a dispute regarding the estate of a recently passed loved one.
Laker Legal Solicitors have years of experience handling many different types of cases regarding intestacy, probate, and inheritance disputes. Our services include removing executors, as well as disputes over the interpretation of a Will and the value of assets. By following the ACTAPS code, our team aim to resolve disputes without the need for expensive and stressful court proceedings.
Our experienced solicitors can guide you through every step of entering into a settlement agreement with your employer. We carefully review the proposed terms and provide clear, confidential advice and support.
These matters are handled entirely online. You can discuss your case by telephone or video consultation, and all documents are exchanged securely, so you receive professional guidance without needing to attend an in-person meeting.
