John is the head of our Family Law department, Director & Co-Owner of Laker Legal Solicitors.
Starting his legal career in 2006, John has used his wide-ranging experience and his keen negotiating skills to achieve excellent outcomes for his national client base. John navigates individuals and families through the issues following a breakdown of a relationship, advising on divorce, matrimonial finances, private children proceedings, and cohabitee disputes.
John has a very wide family law practice but particularly excels at complex private children proceedings through to complex financial remedy matters involving businesses, pensions, trusts and overseas property. John has also acted for high net worth clients requiring complex prenuptial / postnuptial agreements; often involving multiple jurisdictions.
John has acted in various cohabitee dispute matters, including the usual disputes through to cases involving intervenors, cases involving fraud / misrepresentation and often business and other property assets.
John has also dealt with a variety of estate dispute cases, ranging from inheritance act claims to executor disputes, some of which have resulted in High Court actions.
A dedicated member of Resolution, John promotes a non-confrontational and collaborative approach to dispute resolution whilst focusing on providing an exceptional client service.
When circumstances dictate, he is a confident and robust litigator, regularly appearing in courts throughout the country and, when required, working closely with barristers who specialise in their respective areas of legal practice. John is also listed as a Leading Lawyer by Wiselaw.
