Our Probate Fees

When someone dies then the executors of their Will have significant duties and responsibilities in connection with obtaining Probate of the Will and Administration of the estate in accordance with the terms of the Will.

If no Will has been left then the next of kin have significant duties and responsibilities in connection with obtaining Letters of Administration to the estate of the deceased and thereafter administering the estate in accordance with the relevant rules of intestacy.

Many Solicitors and banks charge a percentage of the estate for dealing with Probate matters. Here at Laker Legal Solicitors we do not!

Our fees are determined upon the complexity of the estate and not the size of the estate. We believe that it is unfair to charge a 1-3% fee of the entire estate and then a further hourly charging rate on top of that.

Our national hourly charging rates are set at a maximum of £170 + VAT and that rate is for our most experienced Solicitors. Our practitioner’s hourly charging rates range between £120 – £170 + VAT depending upon their individual levels of experience.

We may even be able to provide a Fixed Fee following consideration of the complexity of the estate and overall case.
